Do: Coordinate with the wedding style and color scheme… Don’t: Match the bridesmaids.
Your mother holds a unique place in your heart and your wedding. Don’t make the mistake of grouping her into the look you’ve delegated for your bridesmaids. Instead, consider letting Mom look and feel distinguished in a role that is all her own. A great way for her to achieve a radiant look that also complements the tone of the wedding is to reflect the color scheme with a gemstone in Mom’s jewelry.
The Monique Lhuillier Fine Jewelry collection features blue sapphires, mirroring a navy color scheme exquisitely. The only thing that could make this more perfect is if the bride walks down the aisle in a Monique Lhuillier gown, really tying the elements of design together.
Do: Incorporate a special memory into Mom’s jewelry… Don’t: Overlook that the little things matter too.
A small but significant detail can say a thousand words. Sharing a lifetime of memories and experiences, there has never been a more perfect time to pay homage to the journey that led you here.
Maps by A.Jaffe make for an incredibly thoughtful gift that is sure to ignite special memories. Honor the place you and Mom hold dear with a modern heirloom that tells the story of a beloved place in the world, and in your hearts. Each custom-made piece is engraved with the special location of your choice, pinpointed by a diamond to mark the spot.
Do: Go Classic, but modern… Don’t: Wear a bulky necklace that was on-trend circa 1987.
Mom needs something new to commemorate this occasion. After all, she will cherish this day for years to come, and neither of you should look back on family portraits with regret. It is amazing what confidence a new piece of jewelry can inspire. Encourage Mom to update her look while staying true to her classic roots in this gorgeous pearl necklace by Patty Tobin.
Do: Honor the important women in your life that have shaped the person you are today by inviting them to participate in the selection experience… Don’t: Forget to share a special bonding experience just with Mom.
Moms, aunts, sisters- two things are certain: they’ve been there for you through it all, and they love a touch of frosting. By inviting them along- whether your stepmom or mother-in-law to be- this is a great way to honor the relationship, and show that person how much they mean to you. London Jewelers offers an endless variety to suit every taste and occasion, and is the perfect destination to bring your loved ones. Just make sure that you get some one-on-one time with Mom too. You’re about to marry the man of your dreams, but you’ll always be her little girl.
Do: Take this opportunity to go custom… Don’t: Just assume Mom has something lying around.
Reserve the something old and borrowed for your bridal look- not theirs! Your mother is like a snowflake- there’s simply nothing and no one on the planet like her. It might seem like no matter how much of a selection there is, no one piece truly captures her magic. Creating a custom piece of jewelry is a wonderful way to give Mom something that no one else can have.
Whether you work your artistic side to create a piece by your own invention, or collaborate with a jewelry designer, you can be sure that Mom wears something that was literally made for her. Jewelry designers at Greenwich Jewelers work hand-in-hand with clients to make one-of-a-kind creations. Beginning with pencil and paper to sketch ideas, and working closely together as the vision comes to life, there is nothing that isn’t possible to properly capture Mom’s beauty.
Mother’s Day is on Sunday, May 10th.

Patty Tobin readers, I’d like to introduce you to two very special ladies:
Meet Kathy & Kienan Lacey
(pictured above).
This beautiful — and real life — mother and daughter duo will appear later this month for Patty Tobin in the 2015 New York Edition of Sophisticated Weddings. The release of the magazine’s 2015 bridal book will kickoff our first (“official”) Patty Tobin Mother of the Bride wedding jewelry campaign!
This time last year, the 2014 publication of Sophisticated Weddings New York Edition marked the launch of our first formal Patty Tobin Bridal Collection. We ran our first national full-page advertisement for Patty Tobin Bridal and saw our jewelry styled with several incredible wedding gowns for the magazine’s 2014 feature story. It was especially exciting to see Patty Tobin alongside impressive designer names like Carolina Herrera, Monique Lhuillier, Galia Lahav, and Dennis Basso (exclusive for Kleinfeld).
In the upcoming issue, you can expect to see Kathy and Kienan modeling the Patty Tobin pearl necklaces worn at Kienan’s 2014 wedding in New York City. A full-scale black tie event held at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens last fall, both mother and daughter looked flawless in their unique South Sea and Freshwater Pearl creations.
For her wedding day, the bride wanted to be “dripping in pearls” while still striking a balance with her dress so as not to be too over the top. As we do with many of our brides, Patty decided to design two custom pieces for Kienan in order to achieve the look she wanted. Using a hand-picked combination of creamy-white baroque Freshwater Pearls separated by small sections of 18K Vermeil chain, Patty created an elegant “floating” look for the bride’s necklace. Using two 40″ chains instead of one long, Kienan was able to style and adjust her necklaces to fall exactly where she wanted them. By spacing out the pearls with delicate vermeil chain, Patty created a look that was at once subtle and a statement. The vermeil sections in between the pearls gave the bride an elegant hint of glistening gold as she moved throughout the day while not competing with or overwhelming the beauty of the pearls’ natural luster.
For mother of the bride, Kathy, a beautiful strand of South Sea Pearls from our Couture Collection was met with love at first sight. No custom design was necessary. Before she even tried on the necklace, the moment she walked in, she saw it, pointed to it and said, “That one!”
The necklace belongs to our Patty Tobin Couture Collection, which features a stunning assortment of large baroque South Sea Pearls; all hand-knotted on silk and finished with a 14K gold and diamond clasp. It was the perfect balance of sophistication, style and elegance to go with the black and white strapless designer ballgown she would wear for the occasion.
We are so grateful to both Kathy and Kienan, not only for their patronage and friendship, but for their continued support and overwhelming willingness to participate in this important advertising campaign we are undertaking in 2015! Ladies, we thank you both sincerely and are so happy we could be part of your magical day.
Happy customers like Ro (pictured below) and her husband Bob are what make our Holiday Season so delightful at Patty Tobin. We met this lovely couple during one of our Bloomingdale’s Trunk Shows in Huntington, Long Island this past December. Ro instantly fell in love with our Abalone Torsade and her husband Bob was right behind her to say, “Let’s get it for you!”
As with many of our customers, Ro needed the length of the necklace customized, which we were happy to do. Being able to make slight adjustments like lengthening and shortening necklaces or replacing a clasp to suit a customer’s taste, often translates into some of our most rewarding customer service experiences. I think this is because it often gives us the opportunity to follow-up with our customers one-on-one outside of trunk shows or other busy events, which always seems to add a real personal element to the process.
In this case, Patty and Ro’s husband Bob were in touch via email throughout the customizing process from the time they left our Huntington show to the time they received Ro’s finished necklace. Not only were we able to adjust Ro’s necklace in time for the holidays, but Patty, of course, took the liberty of beautifully packaging and gift wrapping it, so it was already wrapped, bowed and ready to go for Bob to give to his lovely wife for the holiday.
Our relationships with our customers rarely end at the point of sale. Maybe it’s because we’re a family company, maybe it’s just because Patty and I are both friendly extroverted types, but whatever the reason, we do seem to make friends with our customers quite often. It’s like a little extended Tobin family. And I love that about us. We may just be in the business of selling jewelry, but I must say with the utmost sincerity that meeting people like Ro and Bob, and getting to see first hand how just a little bit more work on our part can go such a long way to making them super happy in the end…it truly is the most gratifying part of our job.
Patty Tobin is bringing the heat to Circles this Saturday for a special one-day only Holiday Shopping event.

Last week, for the very first time, Patty Tobin was hosted by Bloomingdale’s personal shopping department, At Your Service, for the designer’s very own private Trunk Show at the store’s famous 59th Street flagship location in New York City!
Being invited to showcase our jewelry with the Personal Shopping department was a huge coo for us — and we don’t mind saying so! Patty and I were both thrilled to have the opportunity to not only meet the wonderful team of personal shoppers at Bloomingdale’s and introduce them to our line, but also to garner the attention of our their clients during our four day trunk show.
The women of At Your Service were lovely hosts. They were not only welcoming, but they were willing to make time to get to know us and to learn more about the line (despite their super jam-packed schedules). We’re extremely happy to report that they all loved, loved, loved the line. And, perhaps even more exciting, they LOVED our price points!
It was so exciting to interact with these women, all of whom are professional expert level shoppers. They are the ones that engage with Bloomingdale’s VIP clientele and in so doing, they are, perhaps more than anyone else, tapped into their customers’ taste, style, and spending preferences. And to receive so much enthusiastic feedback from each of them individually was incredibly encouraging and a real compliment.
