FASHION & PHILANTHROPY

Teresian House Fashion Show Fundraiser with Patty Tobin

Next Thursday we will be participating in a special fundraising event up in Albany that is particularly near and dear to our hearts. The Teresian House Foundation will hold its annual luncheon and fashion show to raise funds to benefit The Teresian House Center for the Elderly. All funds raised will go to improvements and upgrades to their current facilities — and, by extension, to benefit their many elderly residents.

Patty Tobin will be showcased at the Luncheon and available for purchase with portioned proceeds going to benefit Teresian House.

Patty Tobin will be at the event showcasing her jewelry, which will be available to purchase.

Patty Tobin Fine Fashion Jewelry is collaborating with Circles (of Stuyvesant Plaza) for the fashion show itself, and donating their own portion of proceeds to the cause. We at Patty Tobin can personally vouch for the worthiness of this organization and its mission. Earlier this year, we experienced firsthand the turbulent and trying woe of trying to care for an aging relative.

When Patty’s mother — my Nana — became ill in late January, nothing could have prepared us for the rapid decline we would witness over the next few months. Nana’s physical and psychological wellness suddenly plummeted. She now required 24/7 care. You can imagine what our family went through over the next few months.

Patty Tobin will donate a portion of the proceeds from sales to the Teresian House.

Patty had worked with the Teresian House over the years, but it was this first-hand experience that revealed the real significance and true value of the services offered by the Teresian House. It is the gold standard in terms of quality care, devotion, and respect for the many elderly individuals who reside there.

This sentiment is well captured in the organization’s mission statement, which reads:

Recognizing the value and the sanctity of life, the Mission of Teresian House is to provide the elderly, the highest quality continuum of services, which enhance their physical, spiritual, social, psychological and emotional well-being. This is implemented through a caring staff, volunteers, family and friends who dedicate themselves to care for the elderly.

Tickets for the luncheon are still available. We hope that our Albany friends will come out to join us for this important event. It is certainly a worthy cause. Here are the event details in full for next week:

Patty Tobin readers, I’d like to introduce you to two very special ladies:

Meet Kathy & Kienan Lacey

Sophisticated Weddings’ own Steve Sendor personally photographing our Mother of the Bride campaign at the Lacey-Hoge residence on Park Ave.

This beautiful — and real life — mother and daughter duo will appear later this month for Patty Tobin in the 2015 New York Edition of Sophisticated Weddings. The release of the magazine’s 2015 bridal book will kickoff our first (“official”) Patty Tobin Mother of the Bride wedding jewelry campaign!

This time last year, the 2014 publication of Sophisticated Weddings New York Edition marked the launch of our first formal Patty Tobin Bridal Collection. We ran our first national full-page advertisement for Patty Tobin Bridal and saw our jewelry styled with several incredible wedding gowns for the magazine’s 2014 feature story. It was especially exciting to see Patty Tobin alongside impressive designer names like Carolina Herrera, Monique Lhuillier, Galia Lahav, and Dennis Basso (exclusive for Kleinfeld).

In the upcoming issue, you can expect to see Kathy and Kienan modeling the Patty Tobin pearl necklaces worn at Kienan’s 2014 wedding in New York City. A full-scale black tie event held at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens last fall, both mother and daughter looked flawless in their unique South Sea and Freshwater Pearl creations.

Bride, Kienan, with mom, Kathy, at their family home for our Mother of the Bride photo shoot.

For her wedding day, the bride wanted to be “dripping in pearls” while still striking a balance with her dress so as not to be too over the top. As we do with many of our brides, Patty decided to design two custom pieces for Kienan in order to achieve the look she wanted. Using a hand-picked combination of creamy-white baroque Freshwater Pearls separated by small sections of 18K Vermeil chain, Patty created an elegant “floating” look for the bride’s necklace. Using two 40″ chains instead of one long, Kienan was able to style and adjust her necklaces to fall exactly where she wanted them. By spacing out the pearls with delicate vermeil chain, Patty created a look that was at once subtle and a statement. The vermeil sections in between the pearls gave the bride an elegant hint of glistening gold as she moved throughout the day while not competing with or overwhelming the beauty of the pearls’ natural luster.

Worn by mother of the bride, Kathy Lacey: Patty Tobin Couture 16MM South Sea Pearl Necklace with diamond and gold clasp.

For mother of the bride, Kathy, a beautiful strand of South Sea Pearls from our Couture Collection was met with love at first sight. No custom design was necessary. Before she even tried on the necklace, the moment she walked in, she saw it,  pointed to it and said, “That one!”

The necklace belongs to our Patty Tobin Couture Collection, which features a stunning assortment of large baroque South Sea Pearls; all hand-knotted on silk and finished with a 14K gold and diamond clasp. It was the perfect balance of sophistication, style and elegance to go with the black and white strapless designer ballgown she would wear for the occasion.

We are so grateful to both Kathy and Kienan, not only for their patronage and friendship, but for their continued support and overwhelming willingness to participate in this important advertising campaign we are undertaking in 2015! Ladies, we thank you both sincerely and are so happy we could be part of your magical day.
