Evites went out this week for the grand opening of The Chill Concept in Miami, featuring a special announcement on Patty Tobin's new "Skin" collection which will debut that night!

We are absolutely thrilled to join the ever-growing, progressive Miami art scene with the debut of a very special new collection by Patty Tobin at the re-invented Hardcore Art Contemporary Space. We are so excited to have been invited by Venezuelan artist and museologist Andreína Fuentes, also known by her pseudo name, Nina Dotti, to showcase a new collection designed especially for her newly transformed gallery, The Chill Concept. The first announcement has gone out for the opening and we’re all gearing up for what is sure to be a sensational night in Miami! “We’re Still Standing” Anniversary Celebration

Everyone said we were crazy to start a new business in the middle of a recession, but here we are two years later still standing strong! As the only NYC business to open on FNO in 2009, we’re proud to announce our two-year anniversary celebration!

We invite you to join us for a night of fun, friends and fashion as we sip champagne, model our newest jewels and dance the night away to live music performances by our favorite national karaoke finalists.

Last year’s karaoke competition was such a hit we couldn’t resist doing it bigger and better this year. That’s why we’ve lined up even more local karaoke superstars from the NYC area to participate – and, don’t worry ladies, back again to MC this year is two-time national karaoke finalist and everyone’s favorite, Jerry Griffin. We were pulling people in off the street last year for a quick song or two – and we can’t wait to see what will happen this year! (If we’re lucky, Patty will take the mic Gaga-style again this year! Trust me, you don’t want to miss this.)

Meet the Designer

Fashion is never out of style and never out of reach at Patty Tobin’s self-named jewelry boutique in NYC. Guests are invited to come downtown and meet the imaginative jewelry designer and life-long entrepreneur who launched her Chelsea boutique on FNO two years ago. You’ll learn instantly why this little lady is known by her friends and family as a powerhouse with endless energy. A self-made woman who changed careers five years ago to pursue her passion for design in her 50’s has become a fixture in the neighborhood. All you need is five minutes with her and you’ll see why.

“Skin” Launch

Patty Tobin will be unveiling her new fall 2011 “Skin” collection. Not since our “Tiger” collection launched on FNO in 2009 have we been THIS excited about a new gemstone. If you’re feeling the new Stingray trend in jewelry, you will absolutely love this! We don’t want to give too much away, so you’ll have to come downtown and see for yourself.

Nibbles & Sips

Don’t worry folks, we wouldn’t leave you feeling hungry or parched on FNO! Refreshments and hors d’oeurves will be served during the party by our friends at Incognito — the fabulous new hot spot bistro in the Chelsea/Flat Iron district.

Everybody said we were crazy to start a new business in the middle of a recession, but despite this grueling economy, here we are two years later and still standing strong! It’s hard to believe that its time to plan our third annual Fashion’s Night Out party at the shop. It feels like the past two years have gone by in a flash, but when I look back at how much we’ve accomplished since opening our doors on the first Fashion’s Night Out in 2009 it’s kind of incredible.

For a small business start up we’ve managed to get covered by some pretty amazing media outlets. Starting with our cover story in USA Today in May 2010, we’ve seen the appeal of our story here at Patty Tobin. For starters, as an older entrepreneur and small business owner, Patty represents a relatively new phenomenon that’s going on in the current economy. She, like millions of Americans, decided to start a new business at an age when many choose to slow down. USA Today reporter Laura Petrecca picked up on this in her story, “More Older Americans Start Own Business,” which was followed by two stories with AMEX Open Forum and one with CNN.com.

Beyond that, her jewelry line has an appeal all on its own. First for its beauty and style and second for its price-points. Everyone nowadays is looking for value in their purchases and I think our success is due in large part to how well we fit with today’s consumer demand. People love that they can get the quality with us that they would normally have seen priced at two- to three-times what we charge here at Patty Tobin.

Add to that her fashion-forward design style, which has become a favorite among CBS news anchors and regular CBS Early Show contributor, Dr. Jennifer Hartstein, as well as the local NYC socialite crowd. These women love being able to come to our store and pick out two and three pieces for what they normally would have paid for one piece uptown. We’ve seen a loyal following develop and a lot of customer referrals driving our business, so a big Thank You goes out to all of our patrons for your business and for telling your friends and family about us!

Fashion savvy CBS reporter, Karina Mitchell, was among the first to cover us for her Celebrity Circuit Fashion Week special report last year, saying that Patty’s jewelry could “best be described as wearable pieces of art.” We’ve also had the pleasure of being covered by leading beauty and style blogger and Glam.com contributor, Jeanine Morris, and celebrity blogger, Jill Dobson. When you combine all of that with features in In Style and now Esthetique, we’re so very pleased with the attention our little jewelry box in Chelsea has garnered.

With no plans of slowing down in sight, Patty Tobin will soon be adding two new markets to our roster with Miami, Florida and Vilnius, Lithuania slated for openings this fall. (Stay tuned for more exciting news on this in the coming weeks…)
